Meet Robert Binder, our July Resident of the Month! Robert was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, a major education and economic hub and Indiana’s second-largest city.
Robert has called Park Place Senior Living home for 6 ½ years, stating, “I chose Park Place as my home because both the staff and residents are so friendly.”
Robert, a life-long bachelor, cherishes his relationship with his sister and his niece and 3 nephews. Prior to retirement, he worked for the National Weather Service.
“I relayed weather, wind speed and any other pertinent information a pilot would need to know. I continue to love anything having to do with weather.”
When asked if he had any hidden talents, Robert laughed and said, “I don’t hide my talents, I share them all with the world.”
When he’s not sharing his talents, you can find Robert exercising. He enjoys daily walks and riding the stationary bike in Park Place’s fitness center.
In fact, Robert said, “Because I enjoy walking so frequently, the management at Park Place bought me a beautiful walking stick!”
Robert counts Chef Tomás’ lasagna as one of his favorite things at Park Place. He also enjoys the myriad activities offered as well - such as bingo and dressing up for special events like Park Place’s St. Patrick’s Day Party.
Kimm Loewen, Park Place Senior Living’s Move-In Coordinator, said, “We nominated Robert as Traditions Resident of the Month because he is incredibly active and involved in our community. He participates in just about everything we offer, and he always introduces himself to new residents. He just makes everyone smile."
