Meet Carmella Knight, our May Resident of the Month! Carmella was born, attended school, married and raised her children in Conneaut, Ohio, which is located along Lake Erie at the mouth of the Conneaut Creek just 66 miles northeast of Cleveland. She has called Meadow Brook Senior Living home for nearly 5 years.
When asked why she chose Meadow Brook as her new home, Carmella stated, “The community is beautiful! All the residents and staff are friendly, and I just love my 1st floor apartment with its beautiful patio.”
Carmella married her husband, James Edward Knight, in 1950. Together they had two children. Harold and his wife, Debbie, live in Fishers and Cheryl and her husband, Tom, live in Wisconsin. Carmella has two wonderful grandsons, JR and Patrick. She is also blessed with two great grandchildren.
Before retiring Carmella worked in a laboratory. In her free time, she used to ballroom dance and roller skate.
When we asked Carmella if she had any hidden talents, she said, “I loved to cook; especially Italian and German foods.”
Carmella loves to attend Happy Hour at Meadow Book stating, “I especially love when there is live entertainment. I also am a huge fan of Chef’s lasagna!”
When asked why they chose Carmella as their Resident of the Month, Penny Jones, Meadow Brook’s Activity Director said, “Carmella is so friendly and welcoming to all! She does not hesitate to say hi to guests who are touring or families and friends that are visiting. She has also given a warm welcome to Allison Roskam, our new Executive Director.”
