Meet Harold G. Hoffman, our December Resident of the Month! Harold was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, at the western tip of Lake Erie. Harold has called Traditions at West Park Place home for two years and three months.
“I chose West Park Place after touring several places with my family. Traditions was absolutely the best place of all! We have so much laughter here, and we are in a great neighborhood.”
With a sly grin, Harold said, “We also have great ‘bosses’ – all the ones [staff] that keep us happy!”
Harold, an officer at Toledo Pressed Steel before retirement, was married for 65 wonderful years to his beautiful, late wife, Nancy. Harold has five children, nine grandchildren and boasts several great grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoys repurposing wine corks to make cork houses and trivets. In fact, he has made over 100 cork trivets!
When asked if he had any other hidden talents, Harold laughed and said, “That’s a good question… if so, it must still be hiding.”
Harold mentioned that “dinner” is his favorite meal at Traditions at West Park Place. Chef Matt Goller always has so many delicious entrees from which to choose. He also stated that he “loves to keep busy with all the activities offered as well as helping others when needed.” However, Harold counts Bingo as his favorite activity.
Meghan Siegel, Executive Director at West Park Place, stated, “We chose Harold as Traditions December Resident of the Month because he is a perfect example of what living in a senior community should look like! From day one he became involved in all our social activities and continues encouraging everyone around him to join in.”
