To our employees, we recognize the five generations working for us and will create a sense of belonging for all. Your dedicated service to our residents is celebrated each day, both formally and informally. We are committed to a fair and equitable working environment. Your work/life balance will be respected, so you can continue to build new traditions with your family and the people most important to you.
When we unveiled Our Commitment in 2023, we sought a “north star” - a set of guiding principles that, along with our mission, vision, and core values, would serve as a reflection of who Traditions Management is as an organization and what we strive to be.
Working in senior living is difficult. According to The National Investment Center for Seniors Housing and Care (NIC), the annual turnover rate for all employees in senior living is 85%. Additionally, the NIC surveyed senior living executives in 2023, and 69% of those surveyed cited “staff retention” as a primary concern for their organization.
At Traditions, we strive to create lifelong traditions for our residents and their families, while also fostering an atmosphere where employees thrive and stay.
A tremendous example of this success is happening now at Traditions Regan Park in Avon, Indiana. Indi Paysinger, Lashai Mitchell, Shannon Veals, and Emily Goforth, who have an impressive combined experience of 42 years at Traditions Management, are all moving into exciting new positions, demonstrating the type of commitment and dedication we admire and strive for.
Indi Paysinger is the new Executive Director at Traditions at Reagan Park. With over 12 years of nursing experience, Indi brings a strong clinical foundation and a heart for service to her role as Executive Director. She is passionate about senior living because it allows her to build genuine relationships with residents and support them in the comfort of their environment, where her care can make a meaningful impact on their lives.
Indi’s leadership style is rooted in empathy, connection, and a deep respect for each individual’s journey. She is committed to fostering a community where residents feel valued, supported, and truly feel at home.
"I enjoy being in senior living because it helps me to build a relationship with the individual. I get to see how individuals are in their own environment, which allows me to have a real impact on a person's daily life."
Outside of work, Indi enjoys boating with her family on sunny weekends, spending time in nature, recharging, and finding inspiration outdoors.
Shai has been a nurse for over 12 years and has been a valued member of the Reagan Park team since 2016. Throughout her time at Reagan Park, she has served in several key roles, including Memory Care Coordinator, Director of Nursing, and Weekend Nurse Supervisor. Her clinical expertise and deep compassion for residents make her a natural fit for her new role as Community Relations Director. She is looking forward to learning another side of healthcare while staying with the same residents and staff. “I’m excited about growth and being able to help others in another way.”
Shai’s passion for senior care is rooted in her own life experience. Raised in part by her grandmother, she developed a deep respect for the wisdom and stories of older generations. Even after moving three hours away, she speaks with her grandmother weekly. Although she has also worked in hospital operating rooms and clinical settings, Shai finds the greatest fulfillment in caring for seniors.
“I enjoy working with seniors because of their wisdom and life stories."
Shai enjoys spending time with her three nephews outside of work, especially at trampoline parks. She’s also a gamer!
At Reagan Park, Shai is known for her clinical knowledge and warmth, humor, and dedication to building meaningful relationships with residents, families, and staff. She believes Reagan Park is special because it truly feels like home.
Shai recalls a favorite story with a resident: “One of our younger residents with epilepsy was having an episode in the hallway. I was talking to her when it came on, and I attempted to lower her to the floor instead; she fell on me because she is stubborn and didn’t want help. When she came out of it, she gave me a look and said, ‘Eww Shai, why am I on top of you?’ I told her, ‘Well, you fell on top of me.’ She said to me, ‘Now our relationship has changed.’ We laughed about it the rest of the day.”
With over a decade of dedicated service at Reagan Park, Shannon brings deep experience and heartfelt commitment to her new role as Wellness Director. Having spent years providing residents direct care, medical support, and meaningful companionship, they are well-prepared to lead with clinical expertise and compassionate connection.
Throughout their career, Shannon has worked closely with residents, families, and physicians to ensure the highest quality of care, responding to changes in condition, advocating for resident needs, and fostering a warm, supportive environment.
"I am excited about senior living because it allows me the opportunity to make tangible differences in people's lives. Ultimately, what led me to senior living is the opportunity to make a difference, build relationships, and contribute to senior living well-being and comfort."
Known for their positive energy and creativity, Shannon loves organizing games and arts and crafts, especially around the holidays.
Emily Goforth is moving into the newly created role of Regional Director of Business Development for the Ancillary Services, where she will be responsible for the continued implementation and growth of our suite of ancillary services; Best Choice, 360 Wellness, Brightwell Behavioral Health, and Dignity & Hope Hospice, key differentiators for our brand. Emily has been at Reagan Park her entire career and previously served as the Community Relations Director.
Emily believes every resident who has moved to Reagan Park over the years has a unique journey, and she can recall countless stories. "I have so many touching moments with my residents and their families, but one that stands out is a gentleman who was looking for Memory Care options for his wife since he was her caregiver at home. After numerous visits and conversations, he decided to move to Reagan Park with his wife. We worked through all the emotions and decisions that come with such a transition, and he was very happy that he could stay with his wife in a wonderful place. We truly open our hearts to everyone who comes through our doors."
These exceptional individuals represent the best Traditions Management has to offer. Thank you, ladies, for your commitment to our residents. Congratulations on your lengthy careers at Traditions.
